City of Formosa granted Benjamin Netanyahu honorary citizenship
The City of Formosa in Goiás and the first in Brazil to take an active step on international support to the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu and to the State of Israel in their constant struggles against terrorism and international diplomatic isolation.
This city in the interior of Goiás State had its beginning in February of 1736 when the Portuguese Tax Station was installed, by order of the king of Portugal, with the purpose of controlling the fiscal collections. The foundation of Formosa municipality occurred on August 1, 1843, under the name of Vila Formosa da Imperatriz. Later it was changed to Formosa.
The city of Formosa was known throughout Brazil for its beautiful landscapes, a region there are many lakes and waterfalls that attract tourists from all over the country. In addition, it was in the Formosa region that the Brazilian Army did one of its greatest military training to this day.
The title of Formosa’s Honorary Citizen will be personally delivered to the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu on the occasion of his coming to the inauguration of President-elect Jair Messias Bolsonaro, on January 1, 2019 in Brasília.
The Israel Agency of Media and Cafetorah Team would like to congratulate the Councilor Jurandir Oliveira and Pastor Pedro Laurindo da Silva for the excellent initiative, which undoubtedly demonstrates the affection and solidarity of the Brazilian People towards the People of Israel. It is very important to emphasise the close cultural and faith relationship that exists between Brazil and the State of Israel, especially when enemy governments arise threatening both by the recognition of Jerusalem as the Indivisible Capital of the State of Israel.

Concede Título de Cidadão Formosense ao Sr. BenjamínNetanyahu, Primeiro Ministro de Israel.
A CÂMARA MUNICIPAL DE FORMOSA decreta:
Art. 1o Concede Título de Cidadão Formosense ao Sr Benjamín Netanyahu, Primeiro Ministro de Israel, pelos inestimáveis serviços prestados à comunidade Formosense.
Art. 2o Uma via do presente Decreto e do respectivo Diploma serão entregues ao homenageado em Sessão Solene da Câmara Municipal.
Art. 3o Este Decreto entrará em vigor da data de sua publicação.

Objetivo do Projeto de Lei
Este Projeto de Decreto Legislativo objetiva conceder o título de cidadão Formosense ao Sr. Primeiro Ministro de Israel, Benjamín Netanyahu, este título será entregue ao mesmo, por ocasião da vinda dele para a posse do Presidente eleito deputado Jair Messias Bolsonaro, que será realizado no dia primeiro de Janeiro de 2019, que se realizará em Brasília, capital do Brasil. Benjamín Netanyahu fora responsável por estimular a relação do Estado de Israel com a comunidade evangélica brasileira, em especial de Formosa Goiás visando, dessa forma, o fortalecimento das relações entre Brasil e Israel. Em 1947 a ONU aprovou a resolução OswaldoAranha, embaixador brasileiro, que presidiu a segunda Assembleia geral das Nações Unidas, aprovando o renascimento de Israel, com os seguintes resultados: 33 votos a favor, 13 contra e 10abstenções, Israel é também o único país do oriente médio que, assim como o Brasil, pratica a democracia. As relações entre Brasil e Israel influenciaram em diversas áreas como o turismo, intercâmbio cultural, entre outras. A tecnologia Israelense trouxe considerável avanço na área da agricultura de nosso país, como por exemplo no processo de irrigação, que foi trazido de Israel pela EMBRAPA e aplicado na agricultura brasileira.
